why VPL6 reads 0.7 capacitive power factor

when commissioning the varplus logic regulator after configuring CT parameter and initiating AI the controller reads 0.7c and none of the steps is active. the question here why does the controller read lead power factor ? although the Delta Q equals 990 var and the smallest step is 5kVAR

Hello  MohanadRamadan ,

I apologize for the delay in our response.

Here below are our thoughts.
The PFC Controller can read 0.7c, because the load is really capacitive.
Since the loads are less, then  it is not rare to see cos pi  as capacitive.
DQ is very low,  it can be the real condition, or the CT ration can be wrong. Else you might not set the Angle correctly.
But here the  Ai was done,so we can expect angle is set correctly,in this case you should try to put some reactive load and see how the controller react,
I mean,does current increase proportionally to load the you just connect , does the cos  phi move  to an inductive value .  
Do you have a meter somewhere to compare the controller  current and cos phi with another meter.

Another option, you can also just force a step in fix On ( in the Out parameter in menu 100)  and see if the controller read a correct value .
If angle is totally wrong or CT not set correctly then you will be able to notice it.

You can also compares P & Q  value before and after, where the P should be nearly  the same and the Q should be the initial value.


For Example (1KVAR C + the step value and if the step is 5KVAR C)you should obtain 6KVAR C.
So if the values are not as expected, then it is an issue with the CT ratio or the cabling is not correct.

 

If you still had an issue, please connect with the country CCC team and raise a BFO Case and share your findings, like images and videos captured.
