Dear Experts,
i wonder to know that is it mandatory for PM8000 to be backup with UPS in order to catch up disturbances ?
how if user install PM8000 without backup from UPS, is it still can catch disturbances ?

Hello @Arsyad_Azhari ,
Disturbance direction detection is based on the signals applied to the PM800 meter itself (what the meter is measuring) No network connection to the meter is needed in order for this feature to function.

Charles

Hello @Arsyad_Azhari
The only thing I will add to Charles' message is that if you are using PME to view the Disturbance information, and are relying on multiple devices, you will need to ensure all ION meters are on UPS. Once the site is back up, you will need to wait until the PME collects the data to view the disturbance information. The meters will continue to store the information.

In PQ events such as interrupts if your meter goes off it will not record any data to be used for Power Quality Analysis.
It is recommended to use an auxiliary power source, such as a DC station battery or UPS, that is independent of the measured circuit.

Mostafa
