PowerLogic in Direct Current Application

I had believe that at least one PowerLogic had the ability to be used in direct current applications?  This would be at datacenter sites to read the battery bus voltage.  Maybe the ION 7650?  Did some research and could not find anything conclusive.

If anyone knows about a DC meter for this kind of application please let us know.

Sincerely

Michael

Hi Michael Franz

As Yut Kijsamnong mentioned there is a document explaining this topic for the PM8DC generator performance.

Go to the Generator battery health section for detailed information.

I saw some application using V4 to monitor battery. See if I can find it (it's in this community).

hi,

we have a customer that wants to measure 16.000A DC current with current probe (4-20mA).

The DC voltage is +- 35V DC. The DC current we need to bring to the existing controller in 0-10V.

in the guide from battery monitor there is described to use V4. Is it also possible to use V1, V2, V3 for this?

If we don't use the PM8000 meter for what is made. But we make new template for measuring below.

So we connect Analog input card 4-20mA with the currents.

We use for the first group AI1 with V1

For the second group AI2 with V2

Third AI3 with V3

Four AI4 with V4

Then we can give output to the client from 0-10V with AO1 - AO4 for controllin in the DCS and we can calculcate with ION technology (designer) the energy values, min, max ....; And we create custom drive for the values we want.

below drawing what the client is having. At the orange line we are going to measure the DC and the AC. in total we have 60 times situation below.

If we can connect 4 system to 1 PM8000 we need 15 PM8000 for making this calulcations of energy.Schema.PNG
