Hi All, my customer is having issues with onboard alarms for a PM8000 device, but their query is about all power meter onboard alarms.
The issue is that this was an alarm generated because there was no voltage being read by the meter, which is normal operating mode for the meter on the generator supply. Unfortunately, disabling this alarm (as it is not needed) did not cause the alarm to be cleared. It stayed as an active alarm on both the meter and the SCADA that was interfacing with it.
The way we know the clear these alarms is to put the power meter into a state which identifies the alarms in a healthy state. Eg the example above is a voltage disturbance alarm. The power meter is always at 0 volts as it is a generator feed power meter. Therefore the only way to clear the alarm was to turn the generator system on to allow the power meter to meet the voltage requirements which is 230 volts for voltage disturbance. then to disable the alarm for it to not come back.
This will be a big issue if my customer has to go and retrofit any more generator meters as they will get alarms when the meter is installed, because it is enabled by default.
Is there plans to solve the above issues by introducing a reset feature of some sort?

Not sure if this will be helpful or not. On QED2 switchboard we have had customers request voltage taps on the load side. With voltage taps on the load side the meter is always powered. The CTs are still reading zero so power readings should stay very close to zero.
