Hi,
Is it at all possible to power a 4-20ma or 0-10v sensor from the analogue IO card and not from a external power supply?
We have a situation where it's not possible to install a external power supply, but need to use the analogue IO card for temperature monitoring.

Hello Nigel,
If you only have the analog IO card, then correct, will not work.

The PM89M0024 is a set of "4-20ma or 0-10v sensor" powered by and physically attached to the PM8000.
One meter can have a maximum of 4 cards attached.
Are you asking about powering additional sensors that are not designed for the PM8000? What is it? What requirements?
The other module available is the digital IO module that also contains a 16V wetting source rated for 20mA.

Hi Dan,
I'm connecting a 4-20ma temperature sensor to the analogue card, but I don't have 0-30v volts available at the sensor or power meter. I was hoping that the analogue card could provide 0-30v dc?

Hello @nigel_greenwave,
The Analog output of the PM8000 is very likely not able to power your sensor. The digital in module has a wetting source that may be able to power the sensor however without knowing anything about this sensor I can not say for sure.

Attached is the sensor that we need to connect

Hello @nigel_greenwave
The screenshot shows AC voltage but the install guide shows DC so I will assume DC voltage. What this screenshot does not show is what is the maximum current draw at the different voltage levels assuming 20mA output. The wetting source is 16V so that part is okay, however we need to know what the maximum current draw is before we can say if wetting source can be used.

Thanks for your feedback Charles,
I also cant find the current draw even on the sensor.
However how I understand it, it's only the digital IO card that has the wetting 16V DC, and we only have the analogue IO card available so it wont work?
