Hi Jeong-Je -
I misunderstood your original request. I've not tried to do it, but there is the option to provide a limited number of custom quantities via IEC 61850, so you could map the readings from the serial connected devices to the custom mapping. You may have to map the data into the meter and then map it into the 61850 modules. Of course, depending on the number of devices and amount of data, it may be easier to use a G3200 gateway, that's designed for this application.

Hi Jeong-Je -
IEC 61850 is an Ethernet based protocol, therefore it requires an Ethernet connection. It will not not work on a serial connection.

Hi John,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
I know it's an ethernet based protocol.
But in my thought if we link the data from the meters connected to serail port in PM8000 to 61850 module input in Desnger,
we could transfer the data using 61850 protocol.
Is it impossible?

Do you mean getting data from downstream device then link them into MMXU or MMTR module ?

Hi Yut,
Yes right,
If we do that, could we make PM8000 the converter from Modbus RTU to IEC61850?

Hi John
Thank you fo your help.
I'm happy to know that.
Actually I considered using G3200 before but our sales guy said to me that using PM8000 in this applicatoin will be better opportunity.
Thank you John !!
