I've just been looking through the following post:
https://community.se.com/t5/Power-Metering/PM8000-Firmware-Issue/m-p/165386#M3455
I'm having the same issue i believe. I went to update to the latest FW revision (2.1.0) and something failed right at the end of the process. I've tried to downgrade the firmware to 1.4.3, also tried reapplying the 2.1.0 version, both of these fail. I get the error as you can see in the attached screenshots.
Any suggestions? I'm using the latest version of ION Setup and i believe it is not a mid meter (METSEPM8240)
Many thanks in advance.

Hello @JonMiles,
The log tells me a few points.
A) The firmware was able to upgrade to V2.1, this is significant as this firmware cannot be downgraded. This is not a problem just a note.
B) The meters template did not get pasted onto the meter
C) The web pages did not get loaded onto the meter.
B and C can be addressed with individual steps.
For B:
1) Connect to the meter with ION Setup
2) In the setup assistant, navigate to template -> "Send to meter"
3) Upload the meter's template
For C:
1) Connect to the meter with ION Setup
2) In the setup assistant, navigate to template -> Web
3) Upload the new web pages.

Hi @JonMiles
The ION Setup Version 3.1.19143.01 has some issues while upgrading the firmware version of PM8000 to V2.1.0 using the 'Option 1: Upgrade firmware using ZIP file'. The meter gets stuck to V1.088 and displays goes blank. The latest ION Setup (3.1.19192.01) has addressed this issue. Download the latest ION Setup.
It worked for me with the 2 scenario :

Thanks for your reply, @Romain_Polette
I am running the latest version (downloaded this morning before trying to re update the firmware).
I have also tried direct Ethernet, but i haven't yet tried serial connection, however.

Hello @JonMiles
Is it possible to get a copy of the upgrade logs? C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup\Upgrade.log by default.
What is the meter's firmware at this time?
If the meter's firmware was upgraded by the template paste did not complete, it is not possible to downgrade the meter anymore. I would try manually paste the template on the meter. Same may also apply to the web pages.

One of the guys here had a similar issue but with PM8214, it seemed to be the display firmware.
when we went from selecting all 3 files, and the 'apply pack' for the remote display this didn't work... but if we did them one at a time, it was OK.
Also, the few times things did crash upgrade via FTP definitely was the way to go.

Hi,
I've just tried upgrading 1 file at a time, unfortunately i get the same error - process aborted. How do you go about upgrading via FTP protocol?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Tom,
No, unfortunately I'm still stuck with a bricked meter at the minute.

The meters firmware is stating 2.1.0. I've logged onto the meter via FTP but all folders are empty. Same for when I log on via a web browser, it gives the "File not found" error.
Thanks
