PM2000, PM5100 and PM5300 series time sync protocol

Hello Everyone!

Do you know if PM2000, PM5100 and PM5300 series meter have any time synchronization protocol like NTP?

If not how those meters keep sync the clock?

Can I sync these PM meters through PME when they are integrated?

Thank you for your help.

Hi @smurphy ,

Normally, PME will time sync PM5100 series meters every hour. You can check the driver.xml file and verify the TimeSyncInterval=3600.

The driver file for PM5100 is located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\system\translators folder.

If this is not happening, we may need to capture Wireshark data and gather PME diagnostics for analysis. I would suggest opening a ticket with the support team.

Regards,

JD

Hi @Farid_Yauri,

The PM2000, PM5100, and PM5300 series do not support the NTP protocol for time synchronization.

By default, PME will synchronize the time with the devices every hour.

Regards,

JD

Hi @Jesus_Diaz ,

I am also looking into this issue and was hoping to find some clarity on this.

You stated that PME will synchronize the time with PM5100s every hour automatically however we are not seeing this to be the case on client's systems. We are instead seeing that many of these devices are out of sync if not synced manually at a regular period.

Is there a setting that needs to be enabled on PME/these meters to enable this sync as it does not appear to be automatic?

Right now it appears we need to perform this sync manually using ION setup.

Regards,

Sean
