I'm a switchgear FSE and saw an issue today I've never seen before. Our PM8000 meter reads voltage and current correctly on those screens if you select them. Then, going to the power screen, The meter is not calculating a power summary in KW. Most times it sits at zero.
This is the second meter we've tried.

Hi @shawn.janke
You're welcome.
Yes, further to the previous recommendation, please check the phasor diagram either on the meter's display or using ION Setup.

Hi @shawn.janke
Even if current and voltage appear correct on their respective screens, incorrect Phase Order, Polarity, Scaling or Wiring could cause real power (kW) to calculate as zero. Please double-check:
CT polarity and phase alignment and order
Correct Wiring PM8000 Installation Guide
Whether the meter' Volts Mode is set to Wye or Delta correctly

Another setting to check is the scaled revenue parameters. Will require connecting to the meter with software, either ION Setup or Power monitoring expert. If the scaled revenue parameter is false, check the output of other external Boolean modules, if all modules are false, you will want to paste the template on the meter again. Note that template pastes will remove all logged data.

Sorry Scaled revenue parameters are for the ION7400 and ION9000 meters. May still be good to confirm readings on the meter with software. Would be helpful to read the phasor diagram to see if possible voltages and currents have a phase misalignment.

Charles

Thank Mehran. We have read out the CT wiring through our shorting block and to the meter. CT polarity is correct with high on the line side. Read one ohm through each CT S1 to S2. Known good CTs also read 1 ohm. Phase order is correct, ABC and we are using a delta transformer. Phasors seemed to be correct. I think the current was 90 degrees off of the voltage. We use Digital Output 1 for a load shed signal to our ATC, Woodward. What Charles is talking about below, about scaling. might be something I need to look at.

Hello @shawn.janke , the statement I made about the scaled revenue parameters does not apply to PM800 meters. Sorry for the confusion. There may be some other calculations going on in the meter to look at however scaled revenue parameters is not one of them. The meter has 2 power meter modules you could start with, Power meter module is with the PT and CT ratios applied, MU power meter module is without the PT and CT ratios. If the outputs match, would suggest that something with the PT and CT ratios is not as expected. I would recommend looking at the phasor view to see if there may be a wiring issue.

Charles
