Hi all,
We are debating between a few solar companies; one that would give a 9.6 kW system and one that would give a 6kW system. We might grow into a 9.6kW system, but can't use that much now. My question is, under current net metering rules, if the system is too big and you return alot of electricity back, can you actually get money from Edison at the end of the year?

It sounds like you are asking about "Net Surplus Compensation and Renewable Energy Credits".
It does appear that registered and eligible generation facilities are compensated.
