Is there any IEEE 519:2014 framework compatible with ION8650A available?

Hi

We have a requirement where we need to show IEEE 519:2014 compliance report using PME and ION8650A.

Understand it is not default available in the meter. Do we have any framework compatible with ION8650A available? Or can we use the framework for ION9K in ION8650A?

Hello @Sreejith_KM ,

I created the attached framelet when working on this for the US template. I would only recommend pushing this with PME Designer as it will likely overwrite several modules in the existing framework. I know I had to remove most the EN50160 recorders for this to fit. I was using the US template so it also utilizes the floating nominal framework for nominal voltage. It also uses some overlapping modules with the 4-30 framework, and may create duplicate modules when pushing. I remember the label names need to be correct feeding the data recorders for the PME report to run as well. I used a 9000 meter to reference the label names to make sure they're correct.

Hello,

The US V4.2.0.2.2 template does include the framework in it. It's built based on the ION 9000 framework, but had to allocate modules a little differently based on core framework already in the US template.

Thanks for the reply.

So, guess for India with FW V4.40.1, we don't have any option than making a new custom framework.

Hello @Sreejith_KM , have you talked with Pradip Maity? I believe there is currently a piolet running in India with ION8650 meters and US V4.2.0.2.2 template.

Regarding a custom framework, if you want to create your own you are welcome to do so, there is nothing saying you cannot. Note that the IEE519 is a complex framework with many modules and PME is very specific as to what needs to be recorded for the report to work.

Regards,

Charles

Thanks very much @Charles_Murison for the response.

Lately came to know about this project and now connected with Pradip.

For the 8650A voltage range setting.  Is the below correct?; i.e. the radio buttons L-L while the nominal is L-N?

Hello @LarryP ,

Will need to refer to the IEEE519 Standard to confirm if the voltage is VLL or VLN. As far as the meter is concerned, this setting will change an External Numeric register that has enumeration for PME reports. This setting will also affect the table ION Setup uses to program the harmonic limits. This does not affect the sag/swell module.

Regards,

Charles
