Is there ModBus access and Mapping for PowerLogic PM5563 ?

I need to automate the download of all our meter data on a daily basis.

Does PowerLogic PM5563 have TCP/IP modbus access through the ethernet port?

If so, is there a published access guide and modbus map you can point me to?

If not, what is the most direct way to automate the download of logs?

Thanks

Hi @NortheastSolar

Yes, the PM5500, such as the PM5563, has an Ethernet port that allows data to be polled via port 502 through Modbus. The Modbus map can be found in the device firmware package, which can be downloaded from the 'Software and Firmware' section on the Schneider Electric website.

Meter also has the 'Log Export' feature (has been enabled again in fw V4.4.5) to export its logs to a web server, either on a schedule or manually.

For more information, please refer to the section 'Setting Up Device Log Exports Using the Webpages' in the PM5500 user guide on page 132.

Best Regards,

-Mehran

Oh wow, Mehran thanks so much

Please be advised, the detachable display version of this meter does not have updated firmware information:

https://www.se.com/us/en/product/METSEPM5563RD/power-meter-powerlogic-pm5563-2-ethernet-up-to-63th-h...

Can I assume the firmware is compatible, or no?

Hi @NortheastSolar

You're welcome.

In the website, the released firmware V4.4.5 is referring to both PM5560 and PM5563 without remote display:

Mehran_Mehrnia_0-1741109571302.png

Sine both offers PM5563 and PM5563 with remote display have the same meter, you can upgrade them with V4.4.5 and likely the website needs to be updated for latest firmware of PM5563 with remote display.

Hi @Ramasamy_N please advise.

Best Regards,

-Mehran

Thanks again, I can confirm that the new firmware V4.4.5 firmware upgrade worked for the PM5563 meter with detachable display.

A note for anyone struggling with the password requirement - once upgraded to V4 firmware a new user is created with username "Administrator" and password corresponding to the uppercase MAC address with no dashes.

If you are not on site and only have the IP of the meter, in windows open a command prompt and ping the meter address (ie 10.0.0.52), followed by "arp -a 10.0.0.52" which would give you a MAC address like 00-80-67-89-56-aa

The meter password would then be  "0080678956AA"

So we've hit a snag, the Data Log Export feature in this firmware version does not allow us to specify the target path of the data post, that value is greyed out. We cannot get the data posting to work with this forced value

Is there a work around to changing the path from "/api/datalog/httptest" to the web page where we receive data like in firmware version  2.7.4   ?

Is there documentation for this updated posting feature?

Hello @NortheastSolar

The logs will be export to the fixed path (uploads folder) for in the firmware v4.4.5, there is no option to change this path.

Ramasamy N
