Does anybody happen to know why has ION8650C Socket burden rocket from 0,05 to 8VA?

Our Marcom team has informed me that this will get fixed in the next revision of the catalog.

As Dan explained, the latest Install Sheets have the correct values.

Hope this helps.

The CT input burden of the ION8650 Socket meter is 0.05VA at 5A (0.002 Ohm max).

The power supply burden of the ION8650 meter is approximately 8VA (depends on order option and supply characteristics). The ION8650 can be ordered with an auxillary power cord or with an internal 3-phase supply powered from the voltage measurement terminals.

Hi, Dan. Thanks for your reply. I just got this question from a customer, and he sent me the datasheet tables below.

Considering your explanation, the information really looks a bit confused in the table. I totally understand the customer's surprise.

Take a look...

Actually it is from a catalogue.

You can check by yourself using the following link:

Ok. I just told that to the customer and sent him the 2015 User Guide.

Thank you, Amy and Dan.

Hi Dan,

What's the burden for the M8650A0C0E6C7C4A? The datasheet gives a typical and maximum value for socket form factor.

Regards,

– Scott Clysdale

I've informed @Sanjeet_Sahota about the errors in the technical datasheet: PLSED310027EN_US

The 22/03/2021 version of this document has the "blade power supply" burden spec moved into the current burden section.

If there are other documents in error, please let him know.

The correct specification is:

Socket Current Class 2/10/20
Input-Current burden: 0.05VA per phase at 5A (2 milliOhms max)

Switchboard Current Class 2/10/20
Input-Current burden: 0.05VA per phase at 1A (50 milliOhms max)

Hi Everyone,

Just to follow up on this topic.  First off, thanks @DanL for providing the correct information.  This information will be corrected in the latest revision of the technical datasheet being released in a few days.

Best Regards,

Sanjeet
