ION and PM meter expected lifespan

Hi

Does anybody have and expected lifespan in years of Power Meters from installation, for example ION7650, ION7350, PM700 and PM800 series ?

Looking at some life cycle replacement works for a client and want to give them the correct figures for the devices

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous user ,

The ION7650 and PM800 meters were designed for a 10 years expected life when installed and operated under the recommended environmental conditions. A MTBF calculation for both offers will indicate a even better average performance, but again depends on several factors.

As mentioned by Charles, the ION7300, PM700 and PM800 are obsolete parts and won't offer updated features and have a limited capacity for repairs or fixes, depending on the customer need, a replacement for a current offer might provide several benefits.

Is there any specific information you need?

Regards,

Fabricio

Recommend contacting technical support for more official response.

Note the ION7300 series, PM700 series and PM800 seres are obsolete at this point.

Thanks, i really need an answer this week, from experience that won't happen with tech support.

Guess the client will just have to keep hold of their 20 ION7650 and 100 PM800's for the foreseeable future rather than replace them with ION9000 and PM8240's

Hi @sesa276679

MTBF of the PowerLogic Meters(PM8000, ION9000) are calculated based on the published failure rates of each component used on the construction of the associated device, considering its operation under “expected conditions”.

The MTBF of the ION9000 is 1,274,179 hours (~ 145 years).

The MTBF of the PM8000 is 882612 hours (~ 100 years).

For a more official response, I recommend contacting technical support.

Best regards,

-Mehran
