With enhancements to cybersecurity, there is no way to reset the password. The meters will need to be returned to the factory and reprogrammed. Any customization will be lost.

If you used ION Setup Security Assistant wizard to program the password(s) AND you decided to save those settings to file at the completion of the wizard, then it may be possible for us to view the file and inform you of what the passwords were contained in that file (these are located in the C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ION Setup\Security sub-folder). Otherwise Charles is correct that cybersecurity features prevent any means to retrieve/reset the password of the ION7650 presently.

Dear @Robert_Lee ,
We have a similar problem at our customer, 2 of ION7650 are locked with password and no one now the passwords.
There are Encripted Security files at ProgramData file folder is it possible to view the passwords for us?
Where should we send the files ?
Thanks,

I suggest contacting @Charles_Murison and provide either the 2 files themselves or the AuthenticationCode found within the file themselves (view the file using Notepad).

Hello @mustafap,
I suggest you contact your local tech support team. If they are unable to help you, you can send me the case number and I can follow up with them.
Regards,
Charles

Hello @mustafap ,
When programming the security with ION Setup, at the last step, a user is promoted with option to save the configuration to a file on the computer with extension of .scf. With this file and the help of support it is possible to recover the password. Without this file, if password is lost there is nothing I nor tech support can do. In the case I did not see any mention of a .scf file.
The only option is to return the meter to factory.
Regards,
Charles

Dear @Charles_Murison
I attached the scf files to a mail and send to support with the same Ref.
Can someone support for the recovery?
I can also attach here if you wish.
Thanks,

Hello @mustafap ,
Those .scf files are the default files that come with ION Setup, there is no customer details in those.

Charles

@Charles_Murison @Robert9
Will we still allow a customer return a ION7650 to the factory for reprogramming in 2026? Do we still have that capability?

The ION7650 series has officially reached its End of Support life stage as of September 2024. Consequently, factory repair and reprogramming services (including password recovery) are no longer available for this model.
In rare cases VRS may be able to advise on any remaining options. I recommend contacting Victoria Return Services at VRS@schneider-electric.com to confirm whether any support is still possible.

Hi @Asif_Ali
As mentioned in the posts and threads above, the password cannot be reset onsite. It may only be retrieved by Technical Support (or an AE) if they have access to the last saved .SCF file in which the end user changed and saved the password using the Security Wizard in ION Setup.
Best Regards,
-Mehran
