Hello All,
I would like to use SFTP to transfer the COMTRADE file from ION9000. The User Guide suggests we use SFTP client software such as FileZilla or WinSCP. But both of them are paid. Is there any free software available for SFTP? Thanks
Best regards,
Stuart

Hi Stuart,
WinSCP and Filezilla are both free SFTP clients that can be downloaded and installed to connect.

I am not sure where you are seeing the need to pay for either client?

Thanks for your information. My customer is wondering whether they are also free for enterprise?

As far as my understanding, yes it is free for anyone. It is available for free under a GNU General Public License which allows anyone to use it.

Alternatively, you can use ION Setup to gather the COMTRADE files as well as it uses DotNet which is embedded in the newer OSes to provide a SFTP/FTP connection to the ION meter and gather the files for you.
Go to the Setup Assistant for the ION9K, select Power Quality, select either Sag/Swell Logging or Transient Logging and there should be a Save button available. You can specify a date/range or all and ION Setup will make a SFTP (or FTP) connection to the meter if it can do so and download the appropriate files and save them in the selected folder.
