Hello

Do you know where I can find the reference of this "Shorting Block" that seems to be a CT/LPCT converter ?

Hi @Gilles_APARICI

A shorting block is not included with the meter, as it is a general item that can be ordered separately.

I would recommend contacting sales team for further assistance. I found this article on CT Shorting Terminal Blocks that might provide information about the manufacturer.

Best Regards,

-Mehran

Hello @Gilles_APARICI

The shorting bock is not a converter but used as a means to safely short the 5A CTs so that any work down stream of the CTs could be performed with the CTs shorted.

Regards,

Charles

Hello

yes, I did not understand well the diagram.
I thought it was a CT/LPCT converter.
In fact I was looking for this type of converter to connect traditional CTs and LPVTs to the same protection relay which is LPCT - LPVT only.

Hello @Gilles_APARICI ,

FYI, related FAQ for France:

  • https://www.se.com/fr/fr/faqs/FA406846/

As explained by @Charles_Murison, the shorting block is for security purposes. Below extract of our French catalog:

Romain_Polette_0-1738674775439.png

According to the ION9000 schematic, it means you can connect directly secondary of a "traditional CT" to the primary of a LPCT. Then connect the LPCT to ION9000 Current Input.

Shorting block is highly recommended during power meter maintenance phase and if you cannot power of the line on the primary of the CT. You can chose to remove the shorting block, knowing the risk...

Please check you can apply this configuration to your protection relay. ION9000 allow this CT/LPCT configuration because some specific settings are available on the device.
