Can I replace the standard communication card of an ION7650 so that the meter can realize ethernet communication?

Hello all,

Please help to give your comments, thanks!

My question is that whether all of the ION7650 meters have the same motherboard and whether the communication card can be replaced with any other one according to customer‘s requirement?

Thanks!

Re: Can I replace the standard communication card of an ION7650 so that the meter can realize ethernet communication?

Yes, the communications card can be changed.  There are multiple options available, and they are listed in the catalog.  For example, the card which includes the standard communications plus 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet, is the P765CE0A.

Thank you very much John!

So if there is an ION7650 equipped with a standard communication card, I can order a new communication card which includes the standard communications plus 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet to replace the standard one. Is my understanding right? Thanks!

Yup. Do it sometimes for various reasons. Excellent option the I/O module can be added too, FYI.

Hi John,

May I know the procedure how to do the change after buying the module? Do you have any PDF? Can it be replaceable at site?

Thanks.

Hi

If I would like to have one RS485 COM and Ethernet RJ45 port at the same time, P765CE0A is the right option?

Thanks
