Using latest, I setup a meter in SMS, all ok. I use ION Setup to change some alarm settings, reconnect and everything, according to Setup, is all gone. Like only one empty disturbance alarm remaining.
This is a critical flaw and needs an immediate fix. When an SMS box gets pulled we have no means (PMCU?) to configure meters, and I'm stuck on a job site.
Probably related - I setup a meter with SMS, go into Setup and save to file template. That action alone was enough wipe out the meter alarm/logging info.
Thanks.

Since you mentioned SMS, I assume it is an old meter... I would suggest to take a look at the Meter FW version, I think ion setup may have difficulties to work with old fw.

All fw are current.
A co-worker on another job had yesterday the exact same thing happen to him with CM3's & 4's.
Today, for me on another job site, Setup is just fine with 3350's and 4000's.

Hi Jeff,
Please make sure you are using the latest version of ION Setup which is located here:
https://schneider-electric.app.box.com/ionsetuplatest
Going to the website may still have a very old version.
If the issue is repeatable and is a result of even changing a single configuration by just pressing the Send button on any of the dialogs, then with the new version you can hold down the <Shift> button when you click on the Send button. This should show a dialog which says "Additional debugging enabled". This indicates that the packet transmission will be written to a log file called "PACKET.LOG" which is stored in the Config folder (usually C:\Program Data\Schneider Electric\ION Setup) which will have the raw Modbus packets sent and anything that is received. This information will help in able to determine what ION Setup is doing incorrectly or if the meter is responding not as expected.
It sounds though that if even attempting to Save template information (which is just extracting information from the meter and not programming anything) using ION Setup is causing the device to reset after SMS has programmed it, then this sounds like a meter issue somehow as no read functions should reset the meter (as opposed to actually trying to program the meter).
