Changing Alarm Limit Does Not Immediately Raise an Alarm

Alarms are only raised when the alarm limit is transgressed. So if the limit is changed, to then make the point above (or below as appropriate) the new limit, the alarm will not be raised until the point value has gone below that limit and then been raised above it again.
If you modify one of the alarm limits such that the point value is now in alarm, the alarm will not be generated. This functionality is by design.
