Please read the information below prior to installing Geo SCADA Expert 2023 for important information on any known issues.
By default the export to .sde file dialog shows the 2023 Beta version as the latest export version. Please import the attached .reg file below into ViewX clients to enable export of this 2023 full released version. (This will not be necessary in future updates of Geo SCADA 2023).
Please do not select the Aveva Enterprise Licensing option in the Server Icon Licensing dialog tool if you are not going to use this option, as it may invalidate your license or stop Geo SCADA if the pre-requisite has not been installed. Then you may need to install the pre-requisite to continue.
If an existing server is running the Geo SCADA Server and the Virtual ViewX Server, you must upgrade both. If you omit to upgrade Virtual ViewX then you will see issues when starting ViewX or creating a Virtual ViewX session.
On a clean installation, the classes for OPCDA, OPCAE and OPCHDA servers are not registered. The user would need to open the Client Configuration dialog and click OK on the configured connection for the OPC classes to be registered. This was changed in 2015 to add support for the Systems.xml file.
Licensing for Virtual ViewX Web clients changed in Geo SCADA 2019 and remains the same for Geo SCADA 2023. This note is relevant if you are upgrading from ClearSCADA. Please read the Release Notes of Geo SCADA 2019 for a full explanation of Virtual ViewX licensing.
In brief, Virtual ViewX requires a separately installed Virtual ViewX license for the number of clients per web server. Also the web server itself requires a client license for the database connections - this is sold as a Virtual ViewX web server license.
High resolution displays that are configured to use Text Scaling can result in displays of Geo SCADA's Map Displays and Lists to be noticeably pixelated and blurry. The impact for Map Displays is aesthetic only and should not impact usability, however applying non-standard scaling impacts the display of Lists because the table content becomes too wide for the column width, obscuring some content from view.
