Hi
A customer has huge number of this older Schneider Power Meter PM1200 up and running that they need to connect to Panel Server Advanced (PAS800 models) when they expend/replace webbservers. Is there a custom model device created for PM1200 meter ?, if not can it be done ?
Customer can´t replace this huge number of PM1200 meters what they have in operation
Historiclly they have used webbservers EXG300, Com´X510.
The customer is also using PME but they want to to have the webbserver solution with it´s local webbpages/logging memory in paralell to PME. That is why they use PAS800 instead of PAS600 models.
Also I placed a question approx 2 weeks ago about Panel Server 2 DI (same customer)

Hello,
There is no custom model for PM1200 available today.
Development of custom model are locally managed by each Schneider Electric Countries/Zone. Please contact the Panel Server offer manager of your country to know if it is possible to devellop It.

Hi @XtianPilarcA ,
You did not answer: "did to upload the proposed model ?"
I tried and this seems working (except communication because I have not a real device):
The device is not marked as "unknown".
If you have uploaded the model and this still not working please check with tech support.

Hello,
I see 2 options to solve your issue :
- PM1200 is having a PDM model, some PDM models have been imported in EPC W (CWP) as per RA requirement on 25/07/22, but seems that PM1200 was not imported. Would be to push for a PDM import in EPC W for PM1200.
- You are able to provide me a COMX custom model for the PM1200 and I will import the model in EPC W to generate a PAS custom model that you will have to test with a PM1200, a question of minutes. Reason I am not proposing to make it from scratch in EPC W is workload and I prefer to start using a model validated with the device.

Hello
Hello
Thanks for answer
Just for my understanding. PM1200 was in Com´X510 as a supported meter, see page 3 in attached document. Can this be used ?

Bonjour,
le PM1200 existe dans la Com'X
Avant d'exporter le modèle personnalisé, est-ce qu'il faut éditer les trames pour sélectionner les valeurs demandées ou est-ce qu'elles sont déjà toutes disponibles?

Yes and no:
- I can not export a predefined model from COMX210/510 it was possible with COMX200 at some point in the past.
- a PDM model exists, this model has been defined as a predefined model for COMX. However this model was not defined to be predefined in PAS nor available in EPC W even it was requested last year. This is requiring an action from CWP Team

Hi, as mentioned previous in this topic about creating a custom model we for the future cases investigate if we can do this within the Swedish organisation.
For this case is there any possibility for the CWP Team to create this PM1200 Schneider Power Meter as a predefined model in PAS, for future FW release ?

Hi all,
When you create a model with EPC W => Is this model available for all EPC W users ? Are models integrated in a kind of library ?
Thanks.

Hi all
Thanks for all your effort/input regarding this post.
For future cases we will investigate the possibility to do 3d party devices with EPC web tool locally in country For PM1200 Power Meter we can only hope/wish what this will be a predefined model in PAS in the future.
Best Regards
Anders

Hello @XtianPilarcA,
What do you mean by "unknown status" ?
Did you upload the PM1200 Custom Model on your Panel Server ?
Unknown status is normally displayed for non native devices (no model) that are connected through Modbus:
Once a custom model is uploaded on Panel Server, "unknown" status will disappear (model name will replace de text).
Please try to upload the proposed model and let us know if this worked.

Yah, it’s unknown device I mean. PM1200 is connected to Pas800, no electrical reading.

Hi @Romain_Polette ,
I tried to get a PM1200 meter communicating, the device is not being identified and voltage is also seen in the D+ and D0, Is there a specific setting that enables communication? What am i missing. The system has several PM2120 and all of them are properly communicating and a voltage fluctuation is also seen. The 2120 are newly installed and the 1200 are from older machines.
Best,
Lahiru

Hello @lahiruherath ,
What do you mean by Device is not identified ? Have you tried discovery or manual creation using the custom model ? Discovery does not work with Custom model. Can you try to poll the device using a well known register using the modbus register poll available in the PAS ? Is the device connected ?
Kind Regards

Hi Guillaume,
Tried to communicate with the PM1200 meter with a simple 485 USB converter and Modbus. Still no luck in getting the communication going.

Hello @lahiruherath,
Have you tested your set-up on validated bench ? RS485 can sometimes be tricky ( ensure right serial parameter, sometimes need to swap +/-)...
Would be easier to connect the PM straight to PAS or LINK150 to check the com with the device.
Kind Regards

Hi Guillaume,
Fixed this issue, there was a different parity on PM1200, and changed to a good STP cable the meter communication was quite sensitive. And was only communicating at 4800 with the older audio cable I had used. But with the 120Ohm 0.5 STP it was successful.
Best,
Lahiru
