Hi
I am having trouble to connect new site NetBotz Rack Monitor 570 with DCE server.
When I am trying to add new NetBotz Rack Monitor 570 in Tools > Advance> Advanced view -POST only mode using NetBotz Advance View I am getting following error message.
When I tried to add the device (NetBotz Appliance) in DCE it starts running the Discovery but stop without any result.
I can ping the NetBotz Rack Monitor 570 from inside the DCE server.
I have already register NetBotz Rack Monitor 570 hardware into Struxureware Asset site as well.
Any suggestion that what I am missing or doing wrong?
Regards
Imran

Dear Imran,
I would suggest you to remove the DCE IP address from the Netbotz appliance from post mode.
Ensure that the Network Ports: HTTP: 80 & HTTPS: 443 are opened for bi-directional communication between DCE IP Address and Netbotz appliance IP Address. Ping does not prove if ports: 80 & 443 are opened.
Once you are sure that there is no firewall block, please re-discover the Netbotz 570 as Netbotz Appliance in DCE and see if it discovers.
If it still does not work, you may need to check by using any network utilities to see what happens when you discover the netbotz appliance in DCE software.
Regards,
Bala

Just an FYI, if communications are blocked in one direction (if you don't know or have firewall access), from DCE to NetBotz but not NetBotz to DCE, the post only mode option is actually a beter option than normal discovery and has been seen to work often times when troubleshooting.

Thanks Balaraman and Steven
Is there any way/tool to find the port or firewall blocking?
DCE is working fine with other Netbotz.
I can put the problematic Netbotz IP in Internet browser and can log on into it. did it means port 80 is working on it?
From where I can check the settings of ports in DCE and Netbots?
Regards
Imran

Hi Imran,
If you access the appliance with a browser and do not specify HTTPS or a port at the end with :
You noted that you can access the bot using a browser. Did you access it from the same network segment as DCE?
You noted that it is working fine with other NetBotz. Are the other NetBotz configured with the same user name password, post only mode, the same network segment, etc.
Are you sure when adding the server in using post only mode configuration that you're using the server's admin user/password?
Please note that a firewall can not only be configured to block a port, it can block a protocol, it can block information from specific IPs, and it can block information in specific directions.
Have you verified that there is no duplicate IP?
Have you tried testing this appliance on the same segment as DCE or the same segment where another appliance works?
How many licenses does your DCE have available? What are the totals?
Is this a VM or hardware DCE server?
What versions of DCE and Botzware are in use?

Hi Steve
I discussed the issue with the network tech in my company and he also said the issue might be firewall port restrictions.
He said that he can not do any thing until the end of August due to the Global change freeze in the company so I have to wait until the start of September.
Thanks a lot for your and Balaraman help regarding this issue.
