Netbotz 250 Wireless Sensor Update Utility

Has anyone got this software to successfully update wireless sensors (NBWS100T)? I have tired for hours to update just one of these from it's shipped 1.0.0 version to both 1.0.4 and 1.0.6 and everytime the application stops responding when it gets to applying the new firmware to the units.

They all stage fine and restarting the application shows the staged version as the one I want to apply but the applying step never works. There seems to be no way to stop the application from verifying the Coordinator (NBWC100U) even if it's already on the latest firmware and that causes the unit to drop out and back in again. Maybe this is interrupting the wireless sensors update?

No idea but massively frustrating. Not the first issue (nor the last) I've had with APC software/firmware.

Any ideas?

Dear Samuel,

We are sorry for the inconvenience. We have upgraded the wireless sensors firmware successfully in many Customer installations.

I have shared a tip now on how to update the netbotz wireless sensors firmware.

https://dcimsupport.apc.com/questions/122691506/procedure-to-update-the-netbotz-wireless-sensors-fir...

If possible, please follow the instructions as described and see if it helps.

Regards,

Bala

Thanks Bala, that process matches what I've been doing however you can see here in the screenshot that the software is displaying very odd values compared to your screenshots

As below the firmware for the coordinator in the zip file is 1.0.4, however the application has staged 1.0.6...? Has it put the wireless sensor firmware into the Coordinator somehow?

Tried it several more times, it will still stop responding everytime but at least the Coordinator updates. After firs crash and re-runing the Utility it freezes in the same place again when it says it's verifying updates have completed. Elapsed time also freezes

I have also tried this update process from two seperate computers, same problem on both.

Dear Samuel-At this stage, I would recommend you to contact your local country technical support. Please contact them with the serial numbers of the sensors so that they can assist further. I suspect that there may be an issue with the sensors.

Regards,

Bala

Another unit with the same issue. It seems to be with old stock of 250 Rack Monitors that have Wireless Temperature Sensors running 1.0.0 firmware. The firmware update utility cannot successfully upgrade a 1.0.0 unit to the current 1.0.6 version.

The RMA's unit from the last one came with 1.0.2 firmware. I'm wondering if I'd have more success trying to first upgrade from 1.0.0 to 1.0.2 but to do that I'd need to have the 1.0.2 firmware.

Is there a repository somewhere on this site of older firmware versions?

Still have this issue with every single Wireless Temperature Sensor that ships with firmware 1.0.0 onboard.

Rather than going to multiple RMA requests for every sensor can you not fix the problem? I can't believe this is not repeatable on your end as every single unit behaves the same for me.

That or provide the 1.0.0 to 1.0.2 firmware file so I can try a two stepped upgrade as I requested above.

I've just got off the phone with Tech Support and they are sending a replacement unit. Very easy process with them, quite impressive. Thanks again Bala
