Updated firmware available for APC Rack PDU 2G (AP8xxx)

An issue with the firmware binary for the RPDU2G downloaded from December 21, 2023 until January 2, 2024 prevents the application from installing. The correct firmware binary is now available.     If you performed a firmware update on RPDU2G devices between Dec 21, 2023 and Jan 2, 2024 using the binary downloaded from apc.com or the Data Center Expert offline catalog, you must manually update each affected device with the correct application.   You cannot use Data Center Expert or the Firmware Update Utility (downloaded as part of the firmware file) to update affected devices.     If your Data Center Expert downloaded updates from the firmware update server between Dec 21, 2023 and Jan 2, 2024, it is strongly recommended that you have DCE contact the firmware update server again to download the correct firmware.   Firmware update in IT Expert is not affected.   To update the firmware in Data Center Expert:   Go to Updates > Apply Firmware Updates and click Check Updates. DCE will contact the update server and download the new files.   If you downloaded the firmware update catalog and uploaded it to DCE, download the catalog again and upload the new copy. DCE Firmware Update Catalog   If you performed a firmware update on RPDU2G devices between Dec 21, 2023 and Jan 2, 2024, you must manually update each affected device with the correct application. You cannot use Data Center Expert to update affected devices.   It is suggested that you update the firmware on one device and confirm it is successful before updating multiple devices.   To manually update the firmware:   The correct RPDU2G firmware is available to download on www.apc.com. How to use the recovery code to log in to my account

Log in using your recovery code You can use your recovery code to log in to your EcoStruxure IT account if your 2-factor authentication isn't working. Attempt to log in to your EcoStruxure IT Account. Once you enter your email and password, EcoStruxure IT sends a push to your 2FA device. If you don't accept the push after a few moments, you'll see Lost your Device? Use the Recovery Code Click Lost your Device? Use the Recovery Code and enter your 16-character recovery code. After you enter your code, you'll see a new recovery code displayed. Save this code in a safe place on the computer or device that you often use. Once you confirm that you have safely recorded your new recovery code, you'll be logged into the EcoStruxure IT platform. Reset your 2-factor authentication Once you log in, reset your 2-factor authentication.  Go to Administration > Users.  Find and click your user.  Click Reset 2 Factor... and then Yes to confirm.  Click your profile picture and click Log off.  Log back in and follow the prompts to set up your 2FA again.

Displaying your favorite sensors in EcoStruxure IT

You can mark your favorite sensors in either the EcoStruxure IT web app or the mobile app. Your settings will display in both. Marking a sensor as a favorite on one device also marks the same sensor as a favorite on other similar devices. To choose your favorite sensors: Mobile app Open the app on your mobile device.  Navigate and select the device. Select the [+] button. You might need to slide the favorite sensors to the left to see the button. Click the stars for each sensor to select or deselect your favorites. EcoStruxure IT web app Log into the EcoStruxure IT web application. Go to the Inventory tab and find the device. Click the device, and then go to the Sensors tab. DCE connection to EcoStruxure IT end of life in November 2022

The DCE connection to EcoStruxure IT will be disabled in late November 2022 The date to disable the DCE connection to EcoStruxure IT has been extended to November 2022. No new DCE connections to EcoStruxure IT have been allowed since November 30, 2020 This applies to all DCE versions that support EcoStruxure IT. The connection to EcoStruxure IT from DCE was an interim solution until the Gateway was fully functional. If you registered your DCE server with EcoStruxure IT before November 30, 2020, you can continue to use that existing connection to EcoStruxure IT until November 2022. If you try to register a DCE server on or after November 30, 2020, you'll see an error message and a link to help you get started with EcoStruxure IT Gateway. How to migrate to EcoStruxure IT Gateway from DCE You can easily migrate to EcoStruxure IT Gateway without onsite support. See Gateway software installation and setup You can try using DCE and the Gateway in parallel first before you switch to using the Gateway only. CentOS 8 end of life - Data Center Expert and IT Advisor FAQ

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) recently announced significant changes to the CentOS development roadmap, including the accelerated end-of-life for CentOS 8. These changes affect Schneider Electric’s Data Center Expert and EcoStruxure IT Advisor. No further operating system updates will be available for CentOS 8 after December 31, 2021. Rocky Linux will replace CentOS in Data Center Expert and IT Advisor Rocky Linux was chosen as the new next-generation operating system for Data Center Expert and EcoStruxure IT Advisor. Rocky Linux will replace CentOS with the release of DCE 7.9.0 and ITA 9.3.0. We will provide any updates here and in the EcoStruxure IT forum. We remain committed to supporting customers on these software products. If you have any questions, please submit a ticket or reach out to your Schneider Electric sales representative or account manager. See the CentOS end of life announcement here. Note: CentOS 8 end of life does not affect the EcoStruxure IT Gateway appliance. The Gateway appliance runs on CentOS 7 which is supported until June 2024. Future operating system support for the Gateway appliance is being investigated.   FAQ What OS will replace CentOS on EcoStruxure IT Advisor and Data Center Expert? Data Center Expert 7.9.0 will be released with a new software version including Rocky Linux 8.4 in early 2022. How can I upgrade to Data Center Expert 7.9.0? You must back up your DCE 7.8.1, perform a fresh install, and restore from backup. Instructions will be available when DCE 7.9.0 is released.
