Hello,
A customer is currently trying to connect (4)BCPM's daisy-chained via serial to a Site Server.
1. Is it possible to connect a BCPM as a downstream device on the Site Server?
2. The customer has the optional RS-485 ports. Do we have an existing adaptor for these ports?
3. Do we need a gateway device?
Thank you in advance!

Hi, I just wanted to post an update as I have already received help from the L3 support team.
1. Is it possible to connect a BCPMA as a downstream device on the Site Server? Yes, if the Site Server has the optional RS-485 card, we can connect a Modbus device downstream using a regular third party adapter such as: Pheonix Contact 2761499
The RS-485 in the optional card is 2-wire (half duplex). Using terminals 1 (D-), 2 (D+), 5 ground, shell (frame ground).
In addition, the COM port must be configured in Windows and a serial site must be created in the Site Server Device Manager. COM port # depends on the slot, optional card and interface.
2. The customer has the optional RS-485 ports. Do we have an existing adapter for these ports? See above.
3. Do we need a gateway device? Not required if there is an existing optional RS-485 card.
