I have a new Br1000G which I like. I first connected the USB cable without the Powerchute software installed. Drivers were automatically loaded and I think this added battery options to the Win7 power options, so I set up Win7 to alarm and shut down when on UPS battery.
I then installed Powerchute, which removed the Win7 battery options. Powerchute is ok, but I don't like the moderate file it loads into RAM, and multiple services it loads. So I removed Powerchute and Win 7 battery options were NOT restored.
?? How do I turn win 7 battery options back on?
I would like to run Powerchute periodically on request to view power use and set options like slaved outlets. Is there a lite version or web browser based version I can run occasionally, but still let Win 7 power options control shutdown after switching to battery?
thanks
homer

Hi Homer,
Unfortunately we do not have any Lite or web version of PowerChute Personal. From my experience, in order for you to use PowerChute Personal the APC UPS should be detected as APC UPS under device manager. In the event that you would like to revert back to the Windows 7 Native UPS application you would then need to update/uninstall the APC UPS and have it detected as HID UPS Battery. Once it is set to HID UPS Battery it should display back the Native Battery Option setting.

JonPro- Thanks for answering my questions. I will use your procedure in the future. I am also going to try the Try and Decide option in Acronis True Image to load PowerChute for awhile - then revert back.
