Hello all,
We have recently found a couple of sua5000rmt5u in our inventory room and would like to use them. Can anyone confirm that these will run with 208v single phase input?
We have looked on the product page http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SUA5000RMT5U&tab=models and the documentation.
Does anyone have first-hand knowledge or APC docs that specify that the input can be single phase?
Thanks a ton!!

Hi Mitchell,
The SUA5000RMT5U will indeed run using 208 single phase input power. Given that they have been in your store room, they will most likely require new batteries as batteries stored around 6 months degrade drastically and will cause issues.

Having substantial experience with SURT 5000 and 6000 (high voltage) units, these units expect single phase inputs and output single phase. To obtain split phase (household) voltages (2- 110/120 volt split phases) output, you will need a SURT003 center tapped transformer. The SURT lines are configurable to accept a fairly wide range of single phase voltage inputs. I have run the SURT units on 240 volt + inputs with no issues. I feel certain that the interactive UPS models are similar, maybe not quite a flexible - using transformer taps to do the voltage regulation?
P.S. - "household" is referring to houses in the U.S.!
