calibration key (cal key) locks floating voltage
Just got off the phone with a strange matter.
When the cal key is applied to the beige units (SU1000XLNET and such), not only will it reset the runtime, but their floating voltage goes up, too.
On top of that you are locked out of making actual changes with the "B" command.
Via hyperterm, the "B" command still works, i.e. you can increment and decrement the displayed value.
But the actual voltage at the batteries won't go up or down like before anymore.
Before the cal key, I could actually adjust the float voltage as described here:
http://www.jjoseph.org/notes/apc_smartups_battery_float_voltage
So incrementing (B++) would reduce the float voltage immediately for a few mV. And decrementing (B-) would raise the voltage at the battery terminals.
But not so after applying the cal key (which set the voltage to unacceptable 28.8V)
Does anybody know what the "unlock" command is?
I just want to be able to lower that high voltage.
Thanks!

After a few days of battery overheating, I decided to correct the high float voltage manually as described here:
http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7872
I used 2.2M || R118.
Also needed to adjust the ADC voltage via 2.2M || R99 .
So much for this damned calibration key.
DO NOT USE IT, unless you want to be locked out from any actual float voltage adjustments and have the float voltage set to unacceptable high values by the cal key.
Apc's support was as useless as usual (or versa).
