(Smart ups 2200i)
I have not seen
My warranty replacement batteries arrived this morning, the UPS has had the batteries removed for 6 days while I waited for the replacements as one of the cells had died causing an instant shutdown under load.
New batteries inserted, I expected the "new battery installed Y/N?" on the LCD like it normally does but it never asked, it just sat telling me no batteries are installed.
One brain dead later and it offered to turn on with out AC meaning it knew batteries were installed so I flicked on the mains and powered it up.
34% charge and no is this a new battery so I unplugged the battery & it took about 15 seconds to register no battery, it then refused to see the battery for a while then accepted them and threw up the
I have now done another brain dead and reset the install date for the new battery pack followed by letting it run down until it shut off, it is now behaving and charging from 0%
I may try and pull the batteries after tomorrows planned calibration test but I am leaving it for 24 hours to settle the new batteries.

Hi,
The error is generic and the most likely cause was the connection to the battery or lack of connection. The solution is exactly what you did. Reset / Brain dead the system.
