I have an overhead projestor that draws 5.7 amp and have it plugged into a ups 350. After about an hour and a half it shuts down for no apparent reason. Would this be a bad ups or something else? Any help would be appreciated. The ups is only about 6 months old

I'm not able to get the Model # right now. We have it located in a false ceiling and it up in the air about 25 to 30 '. I think I am going to get a larger one since it would be too small for the va's. Since it is in the false ceiling we wouldn't hear any beeps or anything like that. It does trip out when it goes out so that would indicate to large amp draw. I'll let you know when I put the new one up if I have any problems with it.
Thanks for your prompt reply.

Hi daveroe,
When it shuts down does the UPS just turn off or are there any LEDs lit and a beeping coming from the UPS? If there is beeping what LEDs are lit and what does the beeping sounds like? Does the unit have plenty of room for ventilation? Also, what is the model number of the UPS (located on a white sticker on the back or bottom of the UPS)?
A 350 typically has 350 VoltAmps of power output and the 5.7 Amps would be about 684VA. From the sound of it the UPS would be undersized. But before saying you need a bigger UPS lets see the answers to the questions above to get a better idea of whats happening.
