Hello everyone, this is my very first post in APC forums.
I have recently purchased (last week) an APC Smart series UPS 1500VA.
What I have noticed and I am very concerned about is that when the battery is 100% charged and start the diagnostic test or unplug the Unit from the wall the battery drops dramatically in seconds. The first 5-6 seconds it drops to 78% and after 5-6 seconds more drops to 72%. After that it is droping linearly as it should do.
Edit: The load of the Unit is about 146Watts during the tests
Could you please tell me if it is a general issue or not? Have you seen that to your UPS as well? Do I need to go for an RMA?
Thank you
George

There is really no defined discharge % rate that I am aware of that would tell us for sure but I would say this is normal. If these %'s start to get worse and worse, you may want to contact tech support for your area but I wouldn't assume the battery or UPS is bad at this point.
