I have two UPSs with the same problem:
trying to do a coldstart, an internal relay operate and de-operates. After this, the fault led lights on and the same does the second and third battery leds.
When I connect input mains voltage, with the UPS off, the same I described above happens.
Is there any soul that knows to descodify this. Thanks
Hi People there ... nobody is seeing my post? Can you help me?

Hi There,
Are you referring to the second and third battery LEDs starting from the top, or starting from the bottom? Depending on the answer, the fault could be two different things.
If you are starting from the bottom, this would indicate a fan fault and you would need to check if the fan on the unit is spinning, and then try cleaning out any gunk or debris in it.
If you are starting from the top it is a battery capacitor soft start fault. You should verify that the unit has good, working official APC supplied batteries. If this is the case, the unit is likely faulty.

HI Erasmus
I have another UPS that needs your de-codifying help.
The model is the same and the behaviour is:
- Correct running from batteries
- With inverter running or not, connecting input power I get a paralysed UPS lighting the fault and third battery led (counting from bottom).
Is it so easy as the last damaged fans?
Thanks for your help.

This indicates a PFC failure (inverter - DC bus interaction issue), not a fan failure. Make sure the batteries are measuring good voltage and are fully seated and power cycle the UPS. If you continue getting this fault I would call into your regional tech support for a possible replacement.

Hi Erasmus
Thanks for your valuable tips.
It was in fact a PFC failure but originated on welded contacts of a relay that switches from battery to mains.
The UPS is now running.
