This unit recently began to oscillate between an "internal fault" message and "internal fault cleared". Lots of open/closure of the relay contacts during this switching which cycles every few seconds. Battery charge voltage goes up when fault is clear, indicating possible normal operation. Battery voltage drops to expected battery level (~200 volts) during the "internal fault" cycle. Unit runs great on batteries - the "cycling" only begins when mains are applied. The mains voltages/cycles are all within limits set by NMC. The unit is well grounded with no loads.
In recent past, the unit would do this for a few cycles and then start normally and work fine. Now it continually "cycles" as described. If I hold the "off" button for an extended time, the relays all start oscillating every second or so - continuously.
I feel confident in replacing any of the relay/contactors and have good ones available. Is this the most likely scenario of failure - one of the relays is stuck or non-functional?? The large capacitors all look great. Has anyone found a wiring schema that can help?
The unit is out of warrantee - and cannot affort a new unit, nor to have this one repaired, so any help is appreciated - It'll end up in the scrap yard!

Nicole;
I'm familiar with Schneider's policies - that are appropriate for company network systems due to reliability considerations. For us "DIYers" (I use this in a PRIUPS generator system), sometimes a relatively simple fix can keep a re-purposed "life" extended - otherwise to scrap!
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Unfortunately, Schneider Electric cannot provide any assistance in repairing this unit as there are no field serviceable parts, nor do we sell individual internal components of this UPS.
If you are located in the US or Canada, our best option we can provide is our Trade UPS program, where you can trade in your current unit for a discount on a new one.
For more information, you can contact your local support team to hear more about the program and explore your options.
