SMX750/1500 Calibration not ending properly (AP9631 with 5.1.7 firmware)

Just encountered a very strange problem while doing a first ever calibration on one SMX1500 and two SMX750's simultaneously... started the calibration remotely via the web interface (all have AP9631''s at bootmon 1.0.2 / AOS/SUMX at rev 5.1.7 ) and not one of them is reporting the calibration ending - and this is well after the batteries drained to 25% and recharged completely per the usual process. When i log into the cards, the main screen shows "Battery Calibration in Progress" and under the UPS/Diagnostics tab it still says "Calibration: In progress".

...another firmware bug to fix, possibly ?

Now I am wondering what to do; try to end the calibration manually ? reboot the card ?

I'm a bit worried I might crash the ups or something if I attempt either...

Does anyone from APC have any info on this ?

Thanks!

ok, let's start with a firmware upgrade on the UPS itself. when you do this, the UPS output will need to be turned off.

i will contact you offline to help you on how to accomplish this.

as far as this issue - i would start by rebooting the network management card to see if it clears but then someone else told me it may require turning the UPS on/off when we might as well just upgrade the firmware at that point anyway.

can you tell me what firmware is on the UPS itself under UPS->About.

I think that I have seen this before and it is an issue with the UPS versus the NMC. I'll double check it when I have your UPS firmware info so I can verify. rebooting the NMC management interface would not affect the UPS output.

The SMX750's are all as follows:

Firmware Revision: UPS 03.6 / COM 03.6 / UBL 05.0 / CBL 02.1 (ID11)
Manufacture Date: 10/01/2010

The SMX1500 is as follows:

Firmware Revision: UPS 03.7 / COM 03.6 / UBL 05.0 / CBL 02.1 (ID11)
Manufacture Date: 01/28/2011

For now should I tell the ups to "cancel the calibration" or just reboot the card ?

Any info appreciated, Thanks!
Dave
