This might not be the right place for this question - just hoping to find someone who might know;
I have background and years of experience with Symmetra LX - now in my current job I have a couple of comparative UPS (20Kva single tower) in a different brand, now and again, once per week perhaps, i get an alarm for a few seconds or a minute, saying "Transfer Inhibit" - which I have never seen before and I am not sure what it is, if there is a comparative alarm in the APC world I could compare to? This brand doesnt have a whole lot of useful documentation on it that I can find..
to me it sounds like the UPS is saying "Hey, your facility power is now so bad, I will not go to bypass if I fail, it is safer to drop the load" - but I am not certain that is what it says? - and how would I go about doing anything about it, never seen it on my Symmetra's, and they didnt exactly have "nice" utility feeds either...
here's the output in my alert email:
Events listed in chronological order.
Event: Active:Transfer Inhibit
Event: Active:Device Active Alarm
Event: Cleared:Device Active Alarm
Event: Cleared:Transfer Inhibit
Active Events: None

i'd also guess what you thought as well. i know we have this type of thing in our automatic transfer switches as well called "switch inhibit" where you can tell the ATS to not switch in certain situations and drop the load versus subjecting the load to a potentially bad input or shorted source.
i am guessing this relates to bypass being familiar with the LX myself.

If your facility feed exceeds the bypass limits in voltage or frequency, a Symmetra will complain about "Bypass out of range." The acceptable bypass range is configurable on the NMC under UPS->Power. Should also be somewhere on the PowerView display.
