Hi,
I apologise if this has been asked a dozen times before but I would just like clarification on something.
We have 8 servers and 4 APC 3000 UPS's
They are set up redundantly i.e each server has multiple PSU's, each one receiving power from a different UPS.
The UPS's do not have Network Management Cards.
I believe(correct me if i'm wrong) that the only way to get graceful shutdown of appropriate servers in this scenario is to have Network Management cards installed in each UPS and install PowerChute Network Shutdown on each server.
Even though this may be the best way to go about it, is there any other way?
A colleague maintains that it is also possible using PowerCute Business Edition without using Network Management cards. Even though it may be impractical, due to budget restraints I would like to know if this is possible and how it would be done.
Also, if there is any other software that can do the same thing (without the need for Network Management cards) or any other way about it, could someone please explain.
Thanks in advance,
Ian
