Looking at the compatibility chart, I need PowerChute Network Edition for my OS. I want to run a single-unit shutdown, nothing complex. We recently purchased a BX1500G, on the box it recommended the PowerChute Home Edition. Is it possible use this UPS with the Network Edition?

unfortunately no. you need to have UPS that supports a network management card and Back UPS do not. the idea is that if it is a server OS, then it should be supported by a Smart UPS for that type of hardware. Smart UPS support network management cards.
