New member, New UPS.

Greetings one and all,

I have a technical question and this seems the best place to ask it.

I have just replaced the SmartUPS 2200 where I work with a new one (same model, only newer B-)), how do I get PowerChute to talk to the new UPS? I have PowerChute 9.0.1 installed and it communicated with the old UPS via a serial connection. I have connected the new UPS via a USB connection. I had a brief rummage through the menus of PowerChute but couldn't find a 'go find a UPS' button so I thought I'd better ask someone.

If it is significant, PowerChute is running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.

Hi Sluggo,

Kindly try the following:
1. Remove the old smartups that appears under Hostname when you click on Status.
2. Stop then start the PBE Agent service in services.msc
3.. Click Tools > Configure Device List, a new window will pop up and you should see the new UPS in the Discovered Devices window.
