Ever since the SMT series of UPS's was released, I have had chronic problems with "Communication lost on agent" on a variety of servers, regardless of whether I use the serial cable or the USB cable. It doesn't look as though APC is going to do anything about that as others have apparently complained fruitlessly for years. What is particularly annoying and, frankly, useless, is that the communication seems to go up and down in a matter of seconds.Since I have (and NEED) email notifications enabled, I get hundreds of these over a short period. Is there any way to limit these to, say, one per hour or even one every twelve hours? I do not enjoy having to clear the inbox of thousands of these after a weekend of ups and downs. Or can I simply disable the "communication lost" message without disabling "Battery needs replacing" or something useful? I am using PowerChute Business Edition 9.0. Most of our clients are in the 5-20 user range and a network adapter and its associated software are not in their budgets. I don't even understand why anyone would design the email notification system to work the way it apparently is working, not even getting into whether the "Communication lost" message is an underlying problem that should be corrected.

hello
if you log into the agent web interface via https://
log in, and then on the left hand side, click on Events->Actions and click on the specific event you want to configure for email. within there, as you can see in my screenshot, you should be able to edit the frequency of the notification.

I am having the same issues with email notification. There needs to be a delay set on the frequency of emails sent or a limit of how many are sent. Can someone please help with this concern.
Thanks,
Dan
