Our email uses a different port for outgoing mail for logging purposes. Since the Powerchute software does not allow you to specify a port, the entire notification system useless to me. Is there any other way of getting notifications out besides email? I'd prefer a text message but since the email configuration is so bare-bones, I don't think it's possible.
Also, is there a good guide or manual that explains the outlet configuration? The help file isn't very helpful.

APC's Network Management Card 2 (AP9630 or AP9631) with the latest firmware supports changing the outbound email port as well as authentication. I don't know if you want to look into that, assuming you have a supported UPS. they can do text messaging using 2125551234@vtext.com for example or to a regular email on a smart phone.
again, only NMC2 supports this -> http://www.apc.com/products/family/index.cfm?id=98
AP9618 does NOT support changing the outbound port or email authentication. it is listed on that page but is an NMC1.
