Is it possible for the NMC Firmware to show the actual model of the UPS? It would be easier than to depend on a remote user to look at the back of the UPS.

No, sorry, forgot that part. I may have a copy tomorrow if it releases and it will probably be on apc.com early next week. If I get it tomorrow, I'll try and remember to post it. I won't be able to follow up next week though cause I'll be on vacation. Someone else here could though.

any day now..i am not sure what the hold up is but i will try to find out.
*EDIT* - Long story short, hopefully by the last week in May. If there is anyone that requires it prior for existing issues, let me know but realize none of the documentation is public yet for reference.

Hi,
At this time the NMC will display the proper model name / SKU of Smart-UPS SMT and SMX units and moving forward new units will display the SKU.

Please note for SMX/SMT model SKUs, this will be displayed via NMC with NMC firmware v6.0.6 or higher only. 5.1.X will not show it.

What firmware do you need to show this? Would the firmware need to be updated on the UPS or the Card?
I have a SMT1500 with a AP9631 NMC, Under the about tab on the UPS for model # it shows Smart-UPS 1500 I was hoping more for SMT1500 or if it's the rack mount version SMT1500RM2U
UPS:
Model: | Smart-UPS 1500 |
Serial Number: | AS1114211112 |
Firmware Revision: | UPS 05.0 / COM 02.1 / UBL 05.0 / CBL 5.21 (ID17) |
Manufacture Date: | 03/31/2011 |
For the card:
AOS V5.1.7

lol
OK - well keep in mind that this is not posted yet so documentation is not necessarily posted if you have questions. you should wait until its available online to reference but if you're familiar with 5.1.7 it should be OK.

Well I couldn't wait for insomnia to hit so just did the update. First time, I got a Boot-Monitor load error but it could have been the Windows firewall blocking things. Second time around worked fine on both my NMC-2s. The web interface will take some getting used to but it's all there and pretty in Schneider green. I hope my multiple self tests are a thing of the past By the way, will this work on the old NMC-1 that I have or is that verboten?

nope - NMC2 only - so only AP9630/31 for now with sumx and sy applications. other applications for AP9630/31/35 are on the way as well as our newer AP8XXX Rack PDUs.
NMC1 is verboten.
