Hello,
I want to update the Firmware in my AP9631 NMC2 card, that is installed into a
SmartUPS RT 3000 XLI System.
Actual running is the Firmware V6.2.1 without problems.
I download the new Firmware V6.4.0.
Then I allow Telnet, FTP and http, delete the old SSH key and also the old SSL key.
Starting with the application FW_Upgrade_R2.exe.
The begin of the upgrade process looks good. Ping is OK and I select Upgrade Now.
Testing FTP Log-in is passed.
The process begin to transfer the firmware file (1/3): Boot Monitor
Boot Monitor transfer successful
Restarting network interface
Device connection passed
Testing FTP Log-In
ERROR FTP Log-in failed.
Why that? The upgrade process stops.
I can login via telnet to the NMC2 but I can't login via http. The GUI does not start.
Can you help me please?

Glad it worked and you're all set! Thanks for the positive feedback. Yes, that new version of firmware I also like because it gives our customers a lot of security enhancements and javascript menus that stay open when you click on them

I suggest trying a manual upgrade through FTP as described here for NMC2 -> http://www.schneider-electric.us/en/faqs/FA156047
You can start with just the AOS (APC OS) and then the application file (you don't need to do bootmonitor module twice since it already seems like it went). This could've been caused by a timing/network issue where the upgrade tool couldn't log in via FTP because perhaps the NMC wasn't fully booted or something. You can also retry the tool or just jump to manual FTP method which is what I recommend and is outlined in the article above with the detailed steps including when a reboot is needed.
The GUI doesn't work since your application .bin file is likely missing which contains all of the web pages.

Hello Angela,
thanks for your help. Yes, I already found this documentation on your webpage regarding the manual update process.
But before I start this I tried to do the complete update process with the tool via an other workstation and
this is fully working. I'm very happy and the new application looks great.
After Upgrade I can login again via the GUI and I can create a valid certificate for Web access via https and
also I can create a valid host key for SSH connection.
Its all working and again Thank you very much!
