System: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
After installing a BE550G and PowerChute, the Device Manager shows two entries for Batteries...
APC UPS
Microsoft Composite Battery
Both are enabled, although Microsoft Composite Battery has no option to disable it. Is this correct? What is the reason for two entries?

Microsoft Composite Battery Driver is a Microsoft-supplied driver which enables Power Management and system battery control on the OS. APC UPS is the driver need to communicate with the Back-UPS.
