I am trying to reset the TCP/IP settings for a 7930.
I used the paperclip method to get serial access and then used the reset tool to wipe all the settings.
Network Management Card AOS v3.7.0
Rack PDU APP v3.7.0
I am able to set the TCP/IP to manual but when I type in any IP address something REALLY weird happens.
For instance:
If I set the subnet mask to 255.0.0.0, when the screen refreshes, it says the mask is now "255.0.255.0"
If I set the IP address to 10.1.14.2, when the screen refreshes, it says the IP is 14.2.14.2
I have the same issue with the default gateway.
No other IP inputs are giving me issues; the syslog, NTP, DNS, etc all input and refresh just fine.
Any idea what in the heck would be causing this?

i haven't seen this on this particular unit. we had a similar bug on a completely different hardware platform but i would have heard about this issue i would think by now.
can i ask what IP settings you are trying to enter and in what order? maybe it has to do something with the particular numbers and order of operations.

Well after an hour or so chat with support (thanks for the patience!) we were able to get it fixed
Here is the exact steps we did to get around the bug (I had console access)
1) We configured the PDU with the following network settings (keeping in mind the PDU would only recognize the last two octets i entered)
ip = 3.4.3.4
netmask = 252.252.252.252
gateway = 3.3.3.3
2) I configured my laptop network interface as
ip = 3.4.3.5
netmask = 255.0.0.0
gateway = 3.3.3.3
3) I connected my laptop directly to the network port on the PDU using a straight cable (I didnt try a cross over but a normal straight cable worked)
4) confirmed I was able to ping the PDU IP.
5) opened the web interface for the PDU IP.
5a) tried entering the desired network config and saving, but it behaved the same as the console
5b) reset the network config as provided in step 1
6) used the latest firmware flash to upgrade to 3.7.3
7) confirmed i was now able to set the proper network via the console and the web gui
Talk about one strange bug and a pain in the butt way to upgrade however I couldn't get xmodem to work so all in all, this would have only taken 10 minutes provided I didnt have to find a network combination that worked between my laptop and the PDU
I sincerely hope this helps someone else as it's wasted my entire morning 😃
A big thanks to Kaleemulla for the patience and assistance in trying all sorts of methods
