I have an SMX1000 that has a SMX48RMBP2U attached to it. When looking at the UPS through a web browser, I have 18 hrs + of run time. If I install an additional battery pack, the run time vlaue does not increase. The software does see both battery packs installed. I have done runtime calibrations and battery self tests, the value does not update to the higher hourly projected time of 32 hrs.

With a SMX1000 and one SMX48RMBP2U, with a 100% charge, I typicaly see 18 hours 20 mins run time with no load (My unit will rarely run over 20% load when applied) When I do add multiple SMX48RMBP2U battery packs, the run time value does not change. (this is my concern) My units will run appoximatly 1 Hour and 45 mins if unplugged from commercial power with a 500W load during runtime calibration, that is in line with the run times APC calls out. My concern is the run time reading in the browser window or from the front panel does not reflect the amount of additional battery packs in place. I am under the impression that this is a software set value from APC and it will not increase.

What is the exact figure it shows? 18 hours, how many minutes? I was thinking, some of our older UPSs couldn't display past a certain value (even though it will run for the right amount of time) but I am not sure about these new ones.
How much load % is on your UPS? The 32 hour figure I saw if you have 50W on the UPS. Anytime you do runtime calibrations, for them to be worthwhile, you'll want at least 30% load not to fluctuate more than +/- 5% typically.
Lastly, does the value change if you let the UPS run on battery for a bit - either by pulling the plug or when you did do the calibration?
