AP8653 Display Upgrade / Repair

Good Afternoon

I have a AP8653 it has 2 faults. the firs was the power supply that we fixed.

The second is the display, its blank and the PDU stay idle.

Using a display from a AP8953, the pdu activates and open all banks.

I see SE offers a display upgrade for the 0J-0G-9470 and 0J-0M-81332

But i'm not sure what display module I have and and what will be the replacement would be.

In fact I cant see any difference between the display for the AP8653 and the AP8953.

I want to upgrade to the latest hardware and firmware.

So my customer, sees the value in our services.

Best Regards

Hello,

Customers receive AP8xxx/AP7xxx PDU's with an embedded NMC3. With the decommissioning of the NMC2, certain model AP8xxx PDU's will have their display upgraded to the NMC3. Units that shipped with an NMC2 will not support firmware for an NMC3 display module.

If an NMC3 is installed in a PDU that shipped with an NMC2 module, the following symptoms might occur:
The PDU does not show the correct hardware configuration data
The "overload" LED will be always lit
The unit will improperly measure variable data (amperage, voltage, etc)

If an NMC2 module is installed in a PDU that shipped with an NMC3 module, the PDU will no longer function.

for AP8653 beginning of the serial ZA2242022174,NMC 3 is built in in the Rpdu display

so first verfiy if NMC 2 based display 0J-0G-9470 is installed in the units ,if yes, then do not attempt to replace it with the new NMC3 display 0N-1642 as it causes Rpdu display communication issues and it is required to replace the entire Rpdu as the NMC2 based display is discontinued

If the Rpdu is equipped with NMC 3 based display beginning from serial ZA2242022174 and after then if there is a display issues you can replace only the NMC3 display 0N-1642 without issue and the latest firmware is available on our website

firmware for NMC2 7.1.4 are available below

https://www.se.com/uk/en/download/document/APC_RPDU2G_714_EN/

and NMC3  2.5.2.3  based display are available for upgrade as a free update, SNS tool license is required to update this NMC platform to version 3.x.x

Regards,

Karim
