Overview of this year's new IT Expert feature releases and enhancements:

The Physical security tab in IT Expert displays video clips from monitored NetBotz 750/755 surveillance cameras.

 

About this Beta release  

 

NetBotz cameras will be counted as a node in your IT Expert subscription at full release.

Try the Beta release - plan to manage your subscribed nodes to count cameras.

 

Prerequisites

 

  • At least one Gateway in your organization must be updated to version 2.1.0 when it is released.

    Updating EcoStruxure IT Gateway

     

  • New Web credentials (available in Gateway 2.1.0) for monitored NetBotz 750/755 appliances must be configured on the EcoStruxure IT Gateway Settings page. See how

    This is required for communication with NetBotz cameras. Otherwise, cameras will not be discovered.

    Note: Once you configure Web credentials, you must rediscover previously monitored NetBotz 750/755 appliances to view video clips.

Alarm history

October 2025

 

The Alarm history tab in the Alarms view provides an overview of historical alarms for your IT Expert organization. 

 

You can now view the list in Table view or in Card view.

When you view the list in table view, you can Configure columns to see more or less information as needed. Select the columns you want to display in the table or restore the default.

 

Click Refresh ITE refresh icon 1.png to manually refresh the page.

 

Click Expand  ITE expand icon.png  to hide the widgets and show only the list; click Collapse ITE collapse icon.png to show all.

Dark mode

October 2025

 

You can now view IT Expert in dark mode.

 

Go to your profile > Color modes to switch between light and dark mode.

Updated Devices page

Sept 2025

 

The Devices page has a new look! 

 

  • View the device list in Table view or Card view.
  • Filter the list to see only what is important to you. Filter by Device type, Alarm status, and Model.
  • Select to Hide devices in sublocations.
  • Click More to sort the list by Manufacturer or see a list of Available device configurations. 
  • Alarm status for each device is now shown in the Table view.  

 

Compare sensors and Mute alarms options have moved to the Actions menu.

 

The Export to CSV option is now a button for easier access.

 

The Move devices option has changed. You now move devices from the location hierarchy.

UPS downtime assessment improvements

Sept 2025

 

The UPS downtime report has a new look!

 

A new Power protection causes graph provides insight into the reasons for power protection occurrences including:

 

  • Distortion
  • Transient
  • High and low voltage
  • Frequency
  • Power problems

 

A new Sub-location ranking graph shows the selected location's direct sublocations with the most power protection occurrences. Up to five sublocations are shown.

 

You can download the assessment as a CSV report or a PDF. 
The PDF report now includes graphs and descriptions of various power protection incidents.

Name change: Modeling is now Floor layout

Sept 2025

 

The name of the Modeling option was changed to Floor layout.

Floor layout and Device discovery now appear in the Manage section in the left navigation bar.

 

The Floor layout page now shows tiles for all the rooms in the selected location.

Click Select to see the floor preview. Click 3D to see a 3D room preview. Click, hold, and drag to view the room from the perspective you like.

Click Open in editor to modify the floor view.

 

Devices are no longer listed in the location hierarchy in the Floor layout view.

You now view and manage locations and devices in a separate list to the right of the location hierarchy. 

 

Large organizations that monitor many assets will see improved performance.

New! Active alarms tab

August 2025

 

The Active alarms tab in the Alarms view provides an overview of alarms that are currently occurring in your organization. An IT Expert subscription is required.

 

Alarm insights shows sub-locations with the most alarms, alarms by category, and average alarms per device.

 

Use various grouping options to see active alarms from different perspectives.

 

Configure the alarm list to see only what is important to you.

Threshold information on alarm cards

August 2025

 

Threshold information is now shown on alarm cards.


The current state is shown for state sensors. The current value is shown for numeric sensors.

 

The threshold policy or sensor name is shown beside the current value to easily see what triggered the alarm.

Configurable alarm clearing delay timeout for frequently repeating alarms

July 2025

 

To reduce noise from device alarms that toggle repeatedly within a short timespan, Administrators can specify a device alarm clearing delay in Administration > Organization.

When a device alarm reoccurs within x minutes of the previous alarm clearing, the original alarm continues to be active. Subsequent alarms that reoccur within that timeframe are bundled into one alarm. 

 

The default is 7 minutes. You can set the clearing delay between 0 (no delay) and 20 minutes.

Alarm severity policies for locations

 

June 2025

 

Administrators and Operators with appropriate permissions can configure alarm severity policies for a specific location.

 

The policy will apply to all device alarms in the selected location and its sub-locations. If multiple policies are assigned at different levels of the location hierarchy, the policy closest to the device (lower in the hierarchy) takes precedence.

Device configuration improvements

June 2025

 

 

To access the newest Device configuration features in IT Expert, all EcoStruxure IT Gateways in your organization be updated to version 2.0 or newer.

 

Note: Auto-update to Gateway version 2.0.1 is being rolled out in stages. Manual update to version 2.0.x is not available at this time.

 

If all the Gateways in your organization run software version 1.24 and older, Device configuration is available without the newest features.

 

If the Gateways in your organization run a mix of software versions 2.0 and newer and 1.24 and older, Device configuration is not available.

It is required that all the Gateways in your organization are updated version to 2.0 or newer to enable access.

 

 

New Device configuration features supported by Gateway 2.0.x

 

  • You can now configure settings for one or more devices and send those settings to other devices monitored by any Gateway in your organization. 
    The Configuration tab on the devices details page now links to the Device configuration option.

     

  • The configuration wizard now shows the device communication status with links to troubleshooting help.

     

  • You can now configure secure and write-only data such as passwords and other credentials. Note: This data is not passed from the device to IT Expert.

     

  • The device configuration process can no longer be canceled once it has begun.

     

  • The Description column was removed from the Device configuration results table.

Webhooks

April 2025

 

Webhooks seamlessly integrate external applications and services with EcoStruxure IT.

Get real-time data updates, trigger specific actions based on events, automate workflows, and enhance collaboration between different systems.

 

Administrators can configure webhooks to manage the incident escalation process in platforms such as ServiceNow, X-matters, MoogSoft, or on local servers.

 

An IT Expert subscription is required.

SSO configuration improvements

February 2025

 

  • The Reset SSO configuration and Edit configuration buttons are now grouped for easier navigation.
  • A green checkmark ITE SAML domain verified icon.png is displayed when a domain has been verified.
  • You can now remove a verified domain, available when more than one domain is configured.
  • Edit mode is available only when there is at least one non-SSO Administrator in the organization.
  • In edit mode, a Cancel edit button allows you to revert all changes and return to the original configuration.
  • The help text in edit mode for the Test/Verify SAML configuration step was updated.
  • You can now jump between steps in edit mode.

Device discovery in IT Expert

February 2025

 

Administrators and Operator users with permissions for All locations can discover devices on up to three EcoStruxure IT Gateways at a time in IT Expert.

An IT Expert subscription is not required.

 

Devices are discovered into All locations. Devices can be moved into other locations after discovery.

 

Modbus device discovery in ITE is not supported.

 

Requirements

 

  • Gateway software version must be 1.23.1 or newer.
  • Gateways must be registered in IT Expert.
  • Active Device Communication credentials and File Transfer credentials must be configured on each Gateway first.

Alarm improvements

February 2025

 

  • Alarm details, alarm history, and alarm lists have a new look.

  • Dashboards now show alarms that occurred in the last 24 hours.

  • Devices with the most alarms are highlighted on the Alarm history page. Adjust the filter to see the alarms that are important to you.
  • New text search field on the Alarm history page
  • You can now select All for the timeframe on the Alarm history page to see the entire history of active alarms.

Device communication status indicators

January 2025

 

The Devices page now displays indicators when there is a communication issue between EcoStruxure IT and the Gateway, between the Gateway and the device, or between EcoStruxure IT and the SmartConnect device.

  • Host device will get a Gateway Communication Status and Gateway File Transfer Status sensors

  • These will be visible in the Gateway UI under ‘Overview’ and in ITE under 'Sensors' on the host device only

  • Guest devices will not have a Gateway Communication Status or Gateway File Transfer Status sensor
