Overview of this year's new IT Expert feature releases and enhancements:
Sustainability assessment
July 2024
This Sustainability assessment release offers the following benefits over the Beta version:
Historical data
Toggle between yearly PUE averages and monthly PUE trends:
Yearly averages: See averages for up to the past 3 full calendar years.
Monthly trends: See trends for up to the past 36 months. You can compare the months of each year to discover trends, such as the effects of seasonal temperature changes.
More detailed energy load information
Cooling: The energy used by cooling equipment in the selected room
IT: The energy used by the IT equipment in the selected room. This is used in the PUE calculation.
Power: The energy used by the power equipment in the selected room
Totalenergy: The total energy load in the selected room
PUE estimation
Geographical location:The location of the room is now used to improve the accuracy of PUE estimations.
Selected devices for IT load:You can now select the devices used in the PUE calculation. All applicable devices in the room are automatically included in the calculation until you specifically deselect them.
Administrators can now change the device name displayed in IT Expert for all monitored devices including the EcoStruxure IT Gateway.
Go to Devices. Select a device to change its name in the Actions section.
After you change the device name, its original name as it was discovered in the Gateway is displayed in the Properties section. Gateway software updates do not affect changes made to device names in IT Expert.
Note: The option to change the name of the Gateway is no longer available from the Administration > Gateways tab.
Configure event actions for APC SNMP devices
June 2024
Administrators and Operator users with the appropriate permissions can now configure event action settings in IT Expert for APC SNMP devices that use a config.ini file.
Note: Device configuration is not supported for monitored NMC 4 devices. There is no config.ini file on NMC 4 devices.
Improve inefficiencies through insight into the estimated Level 1 Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of your physical infrastructure in the Sustainability assessment.
PUE and DCiE are calculated at the Room level only. Outgoing power from all the UPSs in the room is the indicator of IT load. Metrics are derived from devices and sensor values.
View the estimate per room over the last 365 days for locations with at least one room and at least one UPS.
Improve your estimate by providing information about the calculation factors that influence estimated efficiency.
The location hierarchy is now managed in Modeling, including create, edit, delete and move options for groups, sites, buildings, rooms, and devices.
Note: You can also move devices in the Devices option.
Racks and rows are no longer created in the location hierarchy. You now create rows and racks in the floor editor.
The Modeling option is available to all users to manage the location hierarchy. No other modeling features are available without a subscription, including assigning genomes to devices.
IT Expert has a new look that aligns with Schneider Electric software standards.
The left sidebar was reorganized into:
1. Analyze: Dashboards, Reports, Warranties and Services
2. Monitor: Devices (formerly Inventory), Alarms
3. Model: Modeling
4. Manage: Firmware update, Device configuration
5. Administration and Support moved to the menu bar in the upper right. There are now a variety of feature overview Tours.
Service contracts and Service visits tabs
April 2024
A Service and warranty coverage widget is now on the Dashboard.
March 2024
A new Services and Warranties option in the left sidebar now has three tabs: Warranties, and two new tabs, Service contracts and Service visits.
Logged in users can view the devices for which they have Viewer permission or higher.
Service contracts
Service contract information is updated weekly from the Schneider Electric database.
Select a location and filter the device list to see an overview of services and covered device types, including services that are Active, Expiring within 90 days, Expiring within 30 days, Expired, or information is Unavailable.
Export a CSV report based on your location and filter selections.
Select a location and filter the list to see an overview of upcoming, ongoing, and completed service visits, and view and download reports when available.
Administrators and Operators with the appropriate permission can schedule and reschedule service visits for devices with an active service contract.
