Is it possible to use Altivar Process ATV630 to manage booster pump, do I need a PLC ?
The Altivar Process ATV 630 has the possibility to manage several motors on a pumping system.
- The solution could be one drive per motor, in this case it is possible to have one master and slaves, in addition, it is possible to have one redundant master. In this case, the master can be replaced by another "slave" which become master.
- The other solution is to have one drive connected on one motor and the other motors are with fixed speed, in this case the master can manage its own motor, with speed variation, and he has the possibility to start or stop the other motors (at full speed).
The final objective is to get and keep a constant pressure at the output of booster station.
See some more information through FAQ, and a movie available on Youtube on the subject.

Altivar Process ATV630 is able to monitor a complete boosting installation thanks to the internal feature MultiDrives Link.
This allows a simple way to connect all the drives on the same network (Ethernet).
This way of connection highly facilitate the cabling (compared to other systems using Inputs Outputs individually.
The product ATV630 allows to monitor up to 6 pumps. It is possible also to have one master or eventually one other master as redundant (in case the first master needs some maintenance actions for example). This is done to ensure continuity of service for the system.

Interesting information, Bruno, and I have an additional question: how many motors/pumps can you manage with Altivar ATV630?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
