PowerLogic T300 - How to time sync Client & Server computers?

Hello guys

I can't synchronize the time of the client and server computers with the T300. How can I synchronize it? Is it possible to change the NTP version? Other meters and P3-P5 IED devices synchronize the time without any problems. My operating system is Windows 10 Pro.

@sathishkumar_ramakrishnan  Thank you for your reply.

My connected devices are syncing time without any problems using the T300's NTP protocol. However, I can't sync the computer's time.

Of course, since the steps on page 58 were successfully completed, the devices' clocks should be synchronized.

Hello,

The PC time can be synchronized as shown below

If no synchronization device is active, synchronization can be performed automatically via the PC date and time. The Set datetime button then appears on the page, which performs an immediate synchronization as soon as it is clicked.

For more details refer the page number 125 T300 user manual in the attachment.

Regards,

Sathish

Thank you for your reply. Do you fully understand what I am saying? I am unable to synchronize the Scada server computer time by reading from the T300 clock. I understand that your method is to read from the computer clock and adjust the T300 clock.

Hello,

the normal use case is to have one time server that will synchronize many RTUs.

The T300 can be synchronized via different protocols, already shared.

Then locally the T300 can synchronize local IED by transfering the time by SNTP or by protocol. And it seems you did it. If among these IED you have a computer to be synchronized and if SNTP works with the other IED, I suggest to check the PC settings.

So it is surprising the have a scada synchronized by a device and not the opposite (by maybe the device has a GPS synchro). Still it should be possible to make this work. And if SNTP from T300 to local IED works, it should work with your local scada.

   Mathieu.
